acetaminophen / codeine — Definition

asetaminofen / kodein / acetaminophen / codeine
The combination of acetalaminophen and codee is an analgesic drug used in the treatment of mild to moderate severity pains. Asetaminophen stimulates pain and fever by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system; codeein modulates pain perception by connecting to opioid receptors. This combination is preferred especially in pains that can not be controlled by acetalaminophen or nonsteroid anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAI). Due to the content of codeein, it carries a risk of addiction and can lead to severe side effects such as respiratory depression, so it should be used carefully.
