diffuse cerebral and cerebellar atrophy-intractable seizures-progressive microcephaly syndrome — Definition

Yaygın serebral ve serebellar atrofi-dirençli nöbetler-ilerleyici mikrosefali sendromu; this syndrome is a rare neurocommunicational disorder characterized by common tissue loss (atrophy), drug-resistant epileptic seizures and the gradually shrinking of the head environment. The disease usually states during prenatal or early babyhood, and severe development retardance, motor function loss and mental insufficientness. This situation, thought to be caused by genetic mutations, significantly lowers the quality of life and requires multidisciplinary medical care.
