Ethiodiodeized oil is a contrast substance containing iodine and is mainly used in lymphography (displaying of lenf vessels). Due to its radioopaque feature, the lymphatic system is clearly displayed. It can also be used as a drug carrier during transarteral kemoembolization (TACE) in the treatment of some liver tumors. Allergic reactions between side effects, risk of embolism and thyroid dysfunctions can be found.
