familial pseudohyperkalemia — Definition
Ailesel psödohiperkalemi / familial pseudohyperkalemia
Family psödohyperkalemi is a benign condition with genetic transition, which causes accidental high measurement of potassium levels in the blood. This condition occurs as a result of potassium leaking from red blood cells during or after blood intake, and mimics a real hypermelemia (high potassium). Patients often do not show any symptoms and this does not affect heart or kidney functions. The diagnosis is subject to the normal, serum potassium in repeated blood tests.
