hereditary mucosal leukokeratosis — Definition

kalıtsal mukoza lökokeratozu / hereditary mucosal leukokeratosis
It is a rare genetic disease characterized by white, thickened plaques on mucosal surfaces such as hereditary mucosal leukokeratosis, mouth, nose and genital area. These lesions are often benign but rarely carry the risk of malignant conversion. The disease occurs as a result of abnormalization of keratin in epithelium cells and indicates autosomal dominant inheritance. Clinically, lesions can not be scraped and are often symptomatic, but can lead to cosmetic or functional problems.
