Hypogonadotropic hypogonadism is an endocrine disorder, characterized by the fact that the hypothalamus or pituitary gland is insufficient gnadotropin (LH and FSH). This leads to low levels of sex hormones (testosterone or estrogen). Clinically shows itself with findings such as puberty delay, infertility and sexual dysfunctions. The underlying causes include Kallmann syndrome, hypothalamic tumors or functional disorders (e.g. excessive exercise or low body weight).
