Idiopathic thrombosis is the formation of blood clot that occurs without any known cause or risk factor underlying (e.g. cancer, surgical, trauma, genetic thrombopfili or long-term inactivity). This condition often manifests itself in the form of deep ven thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE). The diagnosis is subject to the exclusion of all other possible etiology, and the treatment is aimed at improving clot with anticoagulants and preventing new clot formation.
