Lutropin alpha is a luteinizing hormone (LH) analog produced by recombinant DNA technology. In ovulation induction and auxiliary reproductive techniques, it provides ripening and ovulation of egg follicles using follicular hormone (FSH). Hypogonadotropic hypogonadism can also be used in men to increase testosterone production in cases of lack of LH. Applied in clinical practice usually through subcutaneous or intramuscular injection.
