Periyodik Ateş-İnfantil Enterokolit-Otoinflamatuvar Sendromu / periodic fever-infantile enterocolitis-autoinflammatory syndrome
This syndrome is a rare genetic disease characterized by severe enterocolite (indic inflammation) and autoinflamatory response, starting in the period of repetitive fire attacks. It is usually caused by mutations in PLA2G4A gene and occurs in the first months after birth. Symptoms of high fever, blood diarrhea, abdominal pain and systemic inflammation are observed during attacks. Anti-inflammatory drugs and biological agents are used in treatment, but the disease may take lifelong.
