streptogramin B — Definition

Streptogramin B is a component of the antibiotic group of streptogram, and often inhibit bacterial protein synthesis by synergistic effect with streptogramin A. This drug is especially effective against gram-positive bacteria, which shows multiple drug resistance, such as misiline resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and vancomisine.
