Deep gluteal syndrome is a clinical picture that occurs as a result of compression of cyantic nerve or other nerves, pyrformis muscle mainly by deep gluteal muscles or structures. Symptoms such as hip, thigh back and sometimes pain in the leg are observed. The diagnosis is usually subject to physical examination, imaging methods (MRI, ultrasound) and nerve transmission studies. Treatment may include surgical decompression in physical therapy, manual therapy, injections and resistant cases.
