Hipogonadotropik hipogonadizm tip 5, anosmi olsun veya olmasın; hypogonadotropic hypogonadism type 5 is a genetic disease characterized by the absence of gonadotropin secretion hormone (GnRH) or ineffectiveness of the pituitary gland without secretion of adequate luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). This situation leads to puberty delay or absence, infertility and other sexual development disorders by reducing sex hormone production in testicles or ovaries. The disease may occur with anosmi (loss of getting a root) or without anosmi; the presence of anosminin refers to a subtype, also called Kallmann syndrome. This disorder, which can show autozomal dominant or resesif inheritance paterns, is often associated with mutations in genes such as KAL1, FGFR1 or PROKR2.
