This lack of enzyme causes meconium tousuna and functional obstruction by disrupting the stability of liquid and electrolyte in the intestinal epithelium. Clinically, abdominal swelling manifests itself with bile vomiting and gas-gaita excretion. Usually surgical intervention and supporting care is required in treatment.
