congenital microcephaly-severe encephalopathy-progressive cerebral atrophy syndrome — Definition

Konjenital mikrosefali-ağır ensefalopati-progresif serebral atrofi sendromu; this syndrome is a rare neurocommunic disorder characterized by congenital microcephalus (small head circumference), severe encephalopathy (brain dysfunction) and progressive cerebral atrophy (the reduction of brain tissue over time). Neurological symptoms are often seen in patients with severe mental and motor development retardation, seizures, nutrition power and early age. This condition, which is thought to be caused by genetic mutations, results in the reduction of brain volume and disruption of the cormatical structure. It is subject to diagnosis, clinical findings and neuromusting methods; treatment is symptomatic and supportive.
